Looking to make a big difference in real time? Our In Person Events gather families together at non-profit partner locations or other communal spaces to learn about a community need and take action—from assembling care kits for unhoused neighbors to learning about plastic pollution, cleaning up litter and making music with seniors! Led by an experienced Seeds of Caring leader, these family volunteering opportunities include time for curiosity and conversations, as well as hands-on service to meet a real community need. We’ll take care of the planning and details so you can enjoy volunteering as a family!

Crunched for time or wanting to volunteer from home? We'll bring the service to you! Our Anywhere Projects make it easy for you to volunteer as a family from home, any time! Whether packing sack lunches for hungry neighbors, conducting a winter clothing drive, or creating Brown Like Me Care Kits to combat systemic racism and promote equal representation—these projects meet critical community needs identified by our nonprofit partners and provide you with easy-to-follow discussion and activity guides to ensure a meaningful experience for your kids.
From racism to homelessness, we don’t shy away from the tough stuff—but Seeds of Caring will walk right alongside you to guide age-appropriate conversations about complex topics and inspire your kids to take action.
While our activity guides are appropriate for most children ages 2-12, grown-ups are invited to modify the discussion as needed for kids on the upper or lower end of our stated age range. See a sample Anywhere Project here.

We are excited to give our Columbus 12-14 year-olds the opportunity to continue their kindness journey by joining our PLANT (Peer Leaders Aspiring for a New Tomorrow) program. Growing youth will continue to develop empathy, passion, and leadership skills by leading and inspiring youth in service and by supporting Seeds of Caring's mission through a variety of opportunities. For an entire year, participants can sign up for a variety of family volunteer opportunities, including accepting donation drop-offs, co-leading In Person Events, leading younger kids in their own Anywhere Projects, assisting with our behind-the-scenes supply prep needs, and much more.
Registration for our PLANT Program takes place annually in May. If you missed our current sign-up window, please fill out our interest form for future registration notification. You can also keep up to date by subscribing to our bi-monthly newsletter.
