At Seeds of Caring, we imagine a future with more kindness, more empathy, and more inclusiveness. It all starts with our future generation. Our kids deserve a world that is kinder, more just, and more connected than the one we live in today. Seeds of Caring works to turn this vision into reality, offering service projects for kids—empowering them to make a real difference through service, social action, and community-building projects. We are raising a generation of kids who are change-makers and bridge-builders. Together with their grown-ups (that’s you!), we teach children about the causes of social issues, break down barriers that prevent us from living in full community with one another, and encourage our youth to use their hearts, hands, and minds for good. Together, we are creating a brighter tomorrow. Join us!
We don’t shy away from the tough stuff. Teaming together with more than 80 non-profit organizations, we help you and the kids in your life learn about and take action on issues of homelessness, hunger, systemic racism, stigmas surrounding developmental disabilities & the LGBTQ+ community, senior isolation & loneliness, environmental care, and more.
Service projects for kids may include assembling care kits for unhoused neighbors, packing sack lunches for food pantries, or conducting pet food drives for local animal shelters.
Social action projects may include anti-racism education that explores privilege, then invites kids and families to increase representation by donating diverse books and toys to local organizations.
Community-building projects may include, for example, music-making and visiting with members of the developmentally disabled or local senior communities.
A former teacher and licensed social worker, Brandy quickly realized after having children that it was difficult for her to give of her time to the community with her kids present—and volunteer opportunities for her young children were far and few between. That’s when she got her big idea: an organization created specifically to engage children in meaningful service. And that’s when Seeds of Caring was born. Brandy brings to Seeds of Caring a rich background in education, social work, nonprofit programming and management, and an unmistakable passion for helping others learn to be helpers. When she’s not proudly waving her Seeds of Caring flag, Brandy enjoys heading out to the hiking trails with her husband and three kids, traveling, and curling up in her Clintonville home with a book and her dog Annie.
Our small but mighty staff works tirelessly to empower our youth to create a kinder community with their hearts, hands, and minds.
Our grown-up volunteers, called Ambassadors, generously donate their time and talent, making it possible for Seeds of Caring to offer a variety of projects & events to empower our kids and improve our community each and every month. Are you interested in getting more involved as an Ambassador for Seeds of Caring?
